Flu vaccination clinics are now available for eligible patients. Please contact the practice if you would like to book an appointment.
Please also be aware that NHS England has requested that we ask and record, if given, a patient’s ethnicity if they have not previously provided this information to the practice.
South Coast Medical Group would like to thank our patients for their continued support during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Surgeries acknowledge that this has been a difficult and uncertain time for everyone. Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole currently have a low number of COVID-19 infections, although the local infection rates are low the pandemic is far from over, infection rates can fluctuate in a short space of time.
GP Surgeries have been issued strict guidelines that need to be adhered to by law, this includes guidance such as wearing the correct personal protective equipment, the cleaning of consultation/ treatment rooms between patients and guidance on how and when a patient should be seen at the Surgery.
Patient feedback has been paramount since lockdown began on 23rd March 2020. The Surgeries have been extremely busy during the pandemic. We acknowledge that telephone waiting times are longer than normal but would like to assure all our patients that the administration staff are answering calls, booking telephone appointments and ensuring medication requests are issued, whilst following strict guidelines to ensure patients and staff are kept safe at all times.
Our staff are always here to help you, they work extremely hard to advise patients to the best of their ability. The administration team felt it was important to put together some top tips for patients, ensuring you receive the best service from our Surgeries during this difficult time:
- Peak times for the telephone lines are Monday-Friday 08:30-10:00 and 14:00-15:00, if your call is not urgent please telephone outside these times.
- Urgent medical problems are prioritised for appointments. We advise patients to use eConsult for non-urgent advice/treatment. Further details can be found on the website.
- All appointment requests will be triaged, following the initial triage telephone consultation should you require a face to face appointment this will be arranged.
Medication cannot be requested over the telephone; we ask patients to register using SystmOnline or the NHS app. You can request medication through your regular pharmacy, please allow 48 working hours for your repeat medication to be issued, non-repeat medications may take longer to process.
